Destruction - D.E.V.O.L.U.T.I.O.N.

Thrash
01.Devolution 05:29
02.Elevator to Hell 05:38
03.Vicious Circle - the Seven Deadly Sins 04:42
04.Offenders of the Throne 04:16
05.Last Desperate Scream 03:59
06.Urge (the Greed of Gain) 04:42
07.The Violation of Morality 04:36
08.Inner Indulgence 04:46
09.Odyssey of Frustration 05:29
10.No One Shall Survive 04:26
I've never been much of a fan of Destruction, I'm just into the more extreme thrash like slayer and kreator. But this album has changed that, this is pretty extreme and not the clean vocaled stuff they used to put out.

Sanguis Imperem - The Stagnation of Centuries

Death Metal
1. The Fall of 66 5:04
2. Humanity's Dirge 5:06
3. Led to Disaster 5:43
4. Intolerance 7:15
5. Conflagration 5:14
At first I thought this was going to be death/doom, but it turns out it's just straight up death metal. It's pretty much midpaced the whole time. the guitars remind me of a slower bloodbath, don't know why. the vocals are exhaled as well. This is a good album.

Splitter / Fubar - Split (2008)

Grindcore
Splitter
1.Jag Är Besviken
2.Vi/Ni
3.Alla Vi Hatar
4.Perfekt
5.Slut

8.Slĺ Underifrĺn
F.U.B.A.R.
9.Kalashnikov Kids
10.Century: Burnout
11.Solution?
12.From Is To Was
13.Safety Switch
14.Move Through The Shade Their Ego Makes
15.Look The Other Way
16.Last Days Of Humanity
17.2 Seconds To Designate
18.Point
19.No Rest
20.Fast And Loud
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!
HOL SHIT this is sooooo fierce. Damn splitter reminds me of Pig Destroyer's Prowler in the Yard. Fubar is fierce too but with messier production. GREAT release.

Pisstolero / Yorpu / FlatV5 - 3 Way Split (2008)

NO COVER AVAILABLE

Goregrind
Pisstolero is straight up goregrind, filthy and well crafted although not stand out goregrind. Yorpu is more grindcore than goregrind, but they have some wierd things going on.
FlatV5 has the best production on the split, it's fast and brutal and you get more of a grinding feeling than you do from the others.
NON OF THESE ARE CYBR BANDS!!!
they all have real drummers and are pretty tight.

Crystallion - Hattin (2008)

Epic Power Metal
01. The Ambush 01:56
02. Wings of Thunder 05:28
03. Vanishing Glory 07:45
04. Under Siege 06:00
05. The Battle - Onward 06:55
06. The Battle - Higher than the Sky 08:26
07. The Batlle - Saracen Ascension 07:13
08. Preach with an Iron Tongue 11:08
This album starts with a spoken word story, which leads me to believe that this is a concept album. I gotta tell you just by the intro this sounds like a great album haha. The vocals are good but aren't as good as I'd like them to be, it still sounds incredibly epic. There is speed to the songs and they have breaks, with choruses. it's a good album

All Shall Perish - Wake the Dreamers (2 Songs) (2008)

Melodic Deathcore

1. Awaken the Dreamers
2. Never Again

All Shall Perish maybe trendy, but I think their last CD was tight. So I gave this a try, this effort sounds alot trendier, and they seem to be getting more mainstream. The lead work is great but the overall feel is completely different from thier last one, this one is alot more spacy while the last was dark. If the rest of the album is like this I don't think i'll get it.

Ross the Boss - New Metal Leader (2008)

Traditional Metal

01.I. L. H. 00:49

02.Blood of Knives 03:23

03.I Got the Right 05:44

08.Constantines Sword 04:41

09.We Will Kill 04:34

10.Matador 04:48

11.Immortal Son 06:16
For those of you who don't know, Ross was one of the founding members of Manowar. This album isn't nearly as cheesy as that band haha. Its' actually pretty damn good. If you like traditional metal you should give it a shot.

Hectic Patterns - Random (2008)

Technical Brutal Death Metal

1. Vaseline 04:31
2. Asylum 04:52
3. Macabre Punishment 04:33
4. The Grand Hare Order 05:44
5. Hyperborea 05:08
6. I'll Quit Smoking Tomorrow 02:31
7. Random 06:33
8. Shiva 04:33
9. Enterprise 04:28
10. Thailand 04:24
I hate bands that use rediculous album covers that make them look like some stupid internet band when they are clearly wayyy better than that. These guys play really good technical death metal. The album title basically says it all, they seem to be playing random notes, but somehow it all fits together really well. most bands can't pull this off without sounding like they are just putting riffs together. Conventional playing isn't the only thing they don't pay attention to. several times they transcend genres. They'll go from brutal death metal to slayer'esque thrash then right back to brutal death metal and some of thier riffs sound like Mastodon would play them. they also have some really spacey passages that are intriguing. And they do all of this without being too overwhelming. They are tight, and you will probably see much more of this band in the coming years.

Arkan - Hilal (2008)

Melodic Death Metal

1.Groans Of The Abyss 06:59
2.Lords Decline 06:09
3.Mistress Of The Damned Souls 06:07
4.Lamma Bada "Under The Spell Of Haughtiness" 03:15
5.Tied Fates 05:58
6.The Seven Gates 05:55
7.Athaoura "Shaped By The Hands Of Gods" 03:47
8.Chaos Cypher 05:31
9.Defying The Idols 06:09
10.El Houdou 01:09
11.Native Order 07:21
12.Amaloun Jadid 03:41
HIGHLY RECCOMMENDED!!!!
Very very very good album. First off these guys are French, don't get confused by the middle eastern overtones. These guys aren't the manufactured precise melodic death metal from Gothenburg, they are raw. The vocals are deep like Scar Symmetry, the guitars sound very organic (that's the only word I can think of to describe them) The middle eastern instruments play the entire time not just as intros. and there are some beautifaul clean vocals throughout the album as well. Very well thought out and great Melodic death metal. Expect great things from this band.

Slavebreed - Pain Syndicate (2008)

Brutal Death Metal / Grind

1. Scorned
2. Detention-Revolution
3. Slavebreed
4. Choke
5. Inane
6. Youth Fabric
7. God-Slave-Pain
8. Pain Syndicate
9. Pitiful Existence
10. Misguided Prophets
11. Mind Submission
12. 153 Years
This is a tight record, fast as shit and you get a very dark feeling listening to it.
This also gets you really energrized, i dare you to listen to the first track without freaking out.

Alkemyst - Through Painful Lanes (2008)

Speed/Power Metal
1. The Beast Within 06:58
2. Another You 05:37
3. When the Morning Comes 08:28
4. Enter the Carnival 03:44
5. Restless Show 07:07
6. Everlasting Farewells 05:15
7. The Grand Illusion 03:42
8. Through Painful Lanes 06:13
9. Eagle Fly Free (Helloween cover) 05:14
These guys are very fast but not fast that you don't know what's going on, and they have some breaks in thier songs which give thier sound a great texture that just makes me think of ancient ruins. They also have a really epic sound that alot of bands in this genre don't have. These guys are really technical too, but not overly technical like dragonforce. They vocals are really nice too. Not the best power metal but it's very good.

Sonata Arctica - Deliverance (2008)

Power Metal
01. Mary Lou
02. The Gun
03. Peacemaker
04. They Follow
05. Out In The Fields
06. My Dream's But A Drop Fuel For A Nightmare (Instrumental)
07. Die With Your Boots On
08. The Rest Of The Sun Belongs To Me
09. The Wind Beneath My Wings
10. Fade To Black
11. Dream Thieves
12. Two Minds, One Soul
13. World In My Eyes
14. Draw Me (Instrumental)
15. Respect The Wilderness
16. Blank File (Live version)
17. Mary Lou (Acoustic version)
This is supposedly a best of compilation of Sonata Arctica, but they don't have anything from Ecliptica or Winterheart's Guild. But these are still badass songs that I haven't heard before, from one of the best power metal bands ever.
